Beetle

This is a watercolour painting of a beetle. I used cool harmonious colours to create a base layer and then used metallic watercolours to give it a nice shine on top. I then fine lined it to make it look neater, the fine liner also created some contrast against these bright colours. I also used some paint pens on the face and legs to add more shine and detail.
